Description
The specimen is a slice of the right lobe of the liver. Situated in the central portion are two areas
of organising haematoma. These are walled off by a thick capsule and scattered abscesses are seen
at the periphery of the lobe. The features are those of organising haematoma with associated
infection and are the result of septicaemia in a 48 year old man.
